Why this lesson sits before any exchange handoff
Affiliate programs care about trust for a boring reason: a classroom that rushes people toward a signup is a classroom that gets people hurt. BitBuddy will not invent partner logos, and we will not tell you that a real account is the “next level” of the course. This page is the pause.
Crypto scams reuse old cons — urgency, authority, guaranteed returns — with new vocabulary. You do not need to memorize every ticker. You need a few reflexes.
Nobody legitimate needs your seed
A seed phrase or recovery words are the wallet. Support agents, Discord “admins,” Instagram giveaways, and pop-up sites that ask you to “validate,” “sync,” or “claim” by typing those words are stealing. See also wallets and keys.
BitBuddy will never ask for a seed phrase, a private key, or an exchange password. We do not hold real funds. There is nothing to “restore” here.
Guaranteed returns and fake yield
“Risk-free,” “guaranteed 2% a day,” or “the team will cover losses” is not how markets work. Educational yield on this dashboard is a classroom formula (APY × time) on paper units. It is labeled simulated. It is not a product, not DeFi, and not a reason to send coins to a stranger’s site that copied our language.
If someone shows you a screenshot of profit and a countdown, assume the screenshot is the product they are selling.
Impersonation and fake support
- Look-alike domains and apps. One extra letter in a URL is enough.
- Helpful strangers in DMs. Real support does not usually start in your mentions.
- Romance and “investment manager” scripts. They escalate toward an unrecoverable transfer.
- Job-offer and airdrop forms. Connecting a wallet or pasting a seed is the payload.
Slow down. Close the chat. Open a site you typed yourself. If money already moved on-chain, the protocol will not reverse it — that is the transactions lesson again.
Unknown tokens and “you have been sent” dust
Anyone can create a token and send it to an address. A surprise balance is not a gift. It can be bait to visit a site, sign a malicious message, or pay a “fee” to unlock it. On a real wallet, ignore tokens you did not ask for until you understand the contract. On BitBuddy, sim coins are labeled. They still are not something to chase off-site.
How BitBuddy will talk about partners
If we later include an outbound exchange link, it will be an affiliate relationship: we may earn a commission if you sign up. There is no obligation to click. It is not advice. We will not paste Coinbase, Kraken, or any other brand here until a real labeled URL exists. Read the affiliate disclosure for the exact wording.
A labeled affiliate link is still a trip to someone else’s terms, fees, identity checks, and risks. Do your own research. Compare options. Stay on the paper wallet as long as you want.
A short checklist
- Did anyone ask for a seed, key, or remote-access app? Stop.
- Is the return “guaranteed”? Treat it as a story.
- Did you type the URL yourself?
- Can you explain the asset in a sentence that is not a price target?
- Are you practicing on BitBuddy first, with money that is not real?
