Plain-English rules for this paper classroom. Last updated September 20, 2026.

BitBuddy is a Tempest Labs classroom

BitBuddy is educational software from Tempest Labs. You can read short lessons and practice with a simulated wallet. It is not a brokerage, exchange, custodian, money transmitter, or financial advisor. Nothing on this site is financial, investment, legal, or tax advice.

Using the site means you agree to these terms. If you do not, do not create an account or keep using BitBuddy.

No real money and no real custody

There is no real money on BitBuddy and no real crypto custody. Practice cash, paper trades, staking yield, the mining game, and lab balances are simulated. They have no cash value. There is no withdrawal to a bank, a card, or a blockchain.

Quotes can be cached or labeled as simulated. They are not an offer to buy or sell real coins. A classroom certificate is a souvenir, not a license.

Acceptable use

Use BitBuddy to learn. Do not:

  • Abuse the service. Do not attack, overload, or disrupt BitBuddy for other learners.
  • Scrape in a way that harms the classroom. Light reading by a search engine is fine. Automated harvesting that degrades the site, copies the curriculum to resell, or bypasses limits is not.
  • Commit fraud. Do not impersonate Tempest Labs, BitBuddy, or another person. Do not use the site to run a scam.
  • Treat this as real trading. Do not present paper balances as real funds, promise withdrawals, or try to use BitBuddy as a live desk.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, or that we reasonably believe are harming the classroom.

Accounts

An account is optional for reading lessons. It is how we save checkmarks and hold a paper wallet. You are responsible for your username, email, and password. Keep them private. Tell us if you think someone else is using your account.

We may suspend an account for abuse, security, or to keep the classroom usable. We do not recover real wallets — BitBuddy never holds your seed phrase.

Intellectual property

BitBuddy, the site content, lessons, and branding belong to Tempest Labs unless we say otherwise. You may use the classroom for your own learning. Do not copy the site to run as your own product, strip our name off the material, or republish the curriculum as if you wrote it.

As-is, for a free education product

BitBuddy is offered as-is. We work to keep it up, but we do not promise it will always be available, error-free, or fit a particular purpose. Lessons can have mistakes. The paper wallet can be reset.

To the extent the law allows, Tempest Labs and the people who build BitBuddy are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or damages from using — or not being able to use — this free classroom. If a court ever finds we owe you something, it should be limited to a reasonable amount for a free education site, not “trading losses.” There is no real trading here.

Contact

Questions about these terms go to contactbitbuddy@gmail.com or the contact page. That inbox is for the classroom, not an exchange ticket queue.

Governing law

These terms are meant to be read under the laws of the United States. Tempest Labs can name a specific state here when that is settled. Until then we are not picking a courthouse or writing a venue fight into a free classroom.
